About
A girl in Madrid – About me
I am a girl from Vancouver, Canada, who in the middle of a recession decided re-invent her life. With my dashing, art director husband, we decided to take a leap, leave our jobs in publishing and move to Spain. I am now building a new life in Madrid, with my husband and our furry friend on four legs, Peaches- who loves to watch me cook, and loves posing for the camera.
A girl in Madrid was an idea that I had back in Vancouver. A way to chronicle the beginnings of our new lives on the other side of the pond. As well as a blank canvas, of sorts, in which to post my findings and creations.
I work as a food stylist and photographer primarily in Spain, and other parts of Europe when exciting projects come up.
My ‘day job’ is as co-owner and brand manager for Multibird Branding, a branding company dedicated to the Natural Health Products and Organics sector. You can find us here.
For fun, I’m a classical singer, health-foodie, yogi, amateur feng-shui-er, traveler, lover of languages and inspiring stories of transformation. My areas of interest are vast, and I am a seeker of beauty in all things.
So, welcome to my blank canvas..if anyone’s there? I hope you enjoyed your visit…please come again. ¡Hasta luego!

Just discovered your blog via @saffronberry. Beautiful photographs. I was in Barcelona in November and loved how much respect people in Spain have for their local foods. Can’t wait to see more of your great photographs!
Ola Katherine:
Congratulations on “re-inventing” yourself and creating an exciting new life with Ivan in Spain. Way to go girl!!! I love your description of yourself, as some of it resonates with me. I too am a health foodie, amateur Feng Shui wannabe, and wannbe more often world traveller!! Kudos to you for taking a risk and following your heart’s desire to experience more of what life has to offer. I hope to someday soon travel to Spain and meet you for a fabulous meal at a local neighbourhood restaurant. That would be a beautiful thing! Adios, Lorenda
the photography on your blog is amazing.
you need to go into the food photography business.
WOW.
i can taste the food through the images – amazing
Katerina – this is marvellous! My taste-buds are tantalized by the photos and my heart envious of the sights (and sounds, I’m sure)…. Your “J’oie de vivre” is proving itself here!
Go Girl Go!
Salutations to you both, Katharine and Yvan! Funny how it goes…You have been on my mind so much, lately!
Many thanks for being part of our life.
Best, and with much love and peace to you both,

P.S. I will write later. We are fine, and doing very well. At least, I think we are!
